Not a Hallmark Movie

I wrapped three gifts yesterday, with packing tape. Now, there are probably at least 10 rolls of scotch tape in a box labeled "crafts" around here. The problem is there are at least ten boxes bearing that name waiting to be unpacked. In the interest of time and efficiency, out came the packing tape.

Now, if this had been an actual Hallmark movie it would have played out something like this; Cue the Music.

A woman brings a packing tape wrapped gift to party. The person who receives the gift is reminded by the packing tape of the UPS driver she used to date and leaves the party to go sit quietly by a tree somewhere...and I have to much to do today to tell you the entire story but you get the idea. Hoppen life is very very far from a Hallmark Movie right now. Not sure it was ever close to one anyway.

Which leads me to a very short and sweet point this morning.

It's about what's inside. Its the gift that will mean something to someone, not the wrapping. That applies to so many things. The old saying about it is "what's on the inside that matters" has a very good place in this conversation.

So, if your Christmas decor isn't giving off a Hallmark Movie Vibe, be ok with it. If you look a little frazzled don't worry about it.

Are you feeling joy inside? That's what counts and it will show on the outside.

Light up from the inside out today

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
